A Note from Mary Lou
I am running as a candidate for District 26 House of Representatives, but I am also an American citizen who is greatly concerned about America's future and the future of my beloved state of Arizona.
Many people say that one person can't make a difference- I disagree. If I am elected as your Representative, I intend to speak for all of my constituents in District 26. If elected, I will not make promises I cannot keep.
We must protect Americans freedom to save, invest, start small businesses and allow them to flourish which will enable them to hire employees and spur our economy. When you put more money in people's pockets, they will purchase goods and services, which in turn will create more jobs. We must create the proper conditions for economic growth and can do this by making the tax rates as low as possible for businesses, and by simplifying the federal tax code.
We need a smaller, smarter, government. This can be done by balancing our state government, by limiting the size and scope of government, cutting waste and duplication, and reforming entitlement programs.
As an educator, I saw firsthand the struggles that students and teachers face in today's educational system. Many of our children graduate from high school unable to read or write properly. Education is the key to a successful and prosperous society and we need to nurture and teach our children in a way that will help them be successful adults. I believe my years as an educator and current position on the Tempe Union High School Governing Board will be invaluable as your representative in District 26.
It is my belief that one person can make a difference, and if elected as your representative for District 26, I will do my best to make a difference for not only our district but for the state of Arizona and this exceptional country.
Thank you for your support.
